106th Rescue Wing sponsors job fair on Nov. 10

WESTHAMPTON BEACH, NEW YORK (11/08/2022) (readMedia)-- The New York Air National Guard's 106th Rescue Wing will be hosting approximately 600 student from over 70 schools across Suffolk County long Island, along with ROTC students from Staten Island, for a career fair at F.S. Gabreski Air National Guard Base on Thursday, November 10, 2022.

The students will learn about the career opportunities available in the Air National Guard during the four and half hour event. (8:30 a.m - 1:00 p.m.)

Reporters are invited to cover the career fair.

WHO: Approximately 600 from across Suffolk County N.Y. and Staten Island, N.Y. ROTC students.

WHAT: New York Air National Guard career day at F.S. Gabreski Air National Guard Base. Students will be able to see equipment and talk to Airmen about opportunities in the Air Guard.

WHEN: 8:30 a.m - 1:00 p.m., Thursday, November 10, 2022.

The 106th Rescue Wing, based in F.S. Gabreski Air National Guard Base in Westhampton Beach, New York, operates and maintains the HC-130J Combat King II search and rescue aircraft, and the HH-60G Pave Hawk rescue helicopter. The 106th Rescue Wing is home to a special warfare squadron with pararescuemen and combat rescue officers, specializing in rescue and recovery, and deploys for domestic and overseas operations. Currently, the wing also supports statewide COVID-19 missions.
