109th Airlift Wing Holds Media Briefing at noon on Dec. 1 at Stratton Air Guard Base gate

STRATTON AIR NATIONAL GUARD BASE, SCOTIA, NY (12/01/2016)(readMedia)-- The subject matter expert from the New York Air National Guard's 109th Airlift Wing will be available to speak to the press about the wing's Antarctic support mission and the challenges of flying in that environmental at a noon press briefing today, Dec. 1.

The briefing is being held because of media interest in the 109th Airlift Wing's part in transporting retired Astronaut Buzz Aldrin from the South Pole station to New Zealand. Lt. Col. David Panzera will discuss the 109th's mission and answer generic questions about Antarctic operations. He will not discuss specific about this ongoing operation.

The press briefing will take place at the front gate of Stratton Air National Guard Base.
