Background: As Genesee Community College puts the finishing touches on plans for the 10th annual Cool Kids ECO-Fest at the Batavia Campus, coordinators are excited about this year's new opportunities including Mama Earth's Kitchen Band performing in the Lobby of the Stuart Steiner Theatre alongside the Sustainable Still Life Photography Exhibit by GCC students.

ECO-Fest participants are asked to bring the following recyclable products which earn ECO-Raffle tickets:

• Clean, dry and not moldy textiles such as clothing, draping, bedding and stuffed animals to be collected by WNY Coalition of Donated Goods

• Non-fabric, wood or metal furniture including desks, book cases, tables and dressers collected by Habitat for Humanity

• Old bicycles and reusable bike parts collected by Trailside Bikes of Orleans County

• Paperback books collected for Operation Paperback and delivered to American troops

• Rubber sneakers to be made into running tracks

• Worn American flags for proper disposal

• Eye glasses for the Lion's Club

• Ink cartridges

• Cellular phones for YWCA

• Electronic waste is also accepted this year with support from GCC Student Activities office. All types of computer, gaming, video, cameras and stereo equipment, as well as calculators, fax machines, cabling and televisions will be collected outside in the Colleges "B - D" north parking lot.

Inside the College, ECO-Fest 2015 will feature more than 50 exhibitors, exotic wildlife, make-it take-it activities, face painting by Grease Paint Alley Clowns and all kinds of opportunities to celebrate Earth Day. Participants receive an ECO-Raffle ticket for each recycled item and throughout the day, silent "Green Grab" prizes will be awarded leading up to the grand prize give-away including a bicycle donated by GCC student Maryssa Pierick, who also serves on the College's Sustainability Committee. (All winners must be present.)
