1st Sgt. Kenson Charles, a Bronx resident takes on new duties with Harlem Hellfighters

New York Army National Guard 1st Sergeant Charles T. Kenson, a Bronx resident and a veteran of the Iraq War, assumed his duties as the ranking non-commissioned officer for the Headquarters Company of the 369th Sustainment Brigade during a ceremony held on March 13 at the Harlem Armory.

The 369th Sustainment Brigade is famous as the Harlem Hellfighters, the nickname given to the unit during World War I when it was the 369th Infantry Regiment.

Charles is a full-time National Guard non-commissioned officer who deployed to Iraq twice, and to Kuwait once.

As the first sergeant of the headquarters company, Charles is responsible for the training and career progression of the company's enlisted Soldiers.
