2nd Traffic Update for Newburgh-Beacon Bridge Accident
Overwidth/Wideload Restriction Lifted on Newburgh-Beacon Bridge Eastbound
ALBANY, NY (03/17/2010)(readMedia)-- Earlier this morning, the New York State Thruway Authority announced a tractor trailer accident along I-84 eastbound in the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge Toll Plaza.
Due to the accident, there were no oversized/wide loads being allowed to cross the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge eastbound. This restriction has since been lifted.
The Newburgh-Beacon Bridge Toll Plaza is located at milepost 41.2 eastbound along I-84.
Motorists traveling eastbound along I-84 and traveling across the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge should plan for extended delays and watch for slow or stopped traffic. Motorists familiar with the area may wish to seek alternate routes.
The Newburgh-Beacon Bridge is under the jurisdiction of the New York State Bridge Authority.
