451 Marketing Partnering with BINA Farm Center and Somerville Community Corporation

Summer Intern Class to Create Integrated Communications Strategy for Area Non-Profits

BOSTON, MA (06/08/2015)(readMedia)-- 451 Marketing, a national integrated marketing and communications agency, today announced that it will be partnering with BINA Farm Center (BINA) and Somerville Community Corporation (SCC) for its summer intern marketing project. Guided by 451 Marketing employees, the team of interns will work to craft a comprehensive integrated communications strategy for the organizations. The project is an extension of the agency's "451 Cares" volunteer program.

"451 Marketing is always looking for innovative ways to give back to the communities where we live and work," said Halley Dodge, Director of Marketing for 451 Marketing. "This project is an opportunity not only to help BINA and SCC but also for our interns to get one on one experience with clients. I'm really excited to see what the teams come up with."

BINA Farm Center brings together individuals with and without special needs by offering a variety of inclusive enrichment programs in a comprehensive therapeutic and recreational environment. BINA utilizes Equine-Assisted Activities and Therapies, Vocational Training Programs, and Creative and Complementary Therapies for children and adults with physical, developmental and emotional challenges.

"A large part of BINA Farm Center's mission is to bring people with and without special needs together, so collaborating with 451 Marketing makes a lot of sense," says Coryn Bina, Executive Director and Co-Founder of BINA Farm Center. "We are immensely thankful for the opportunity to work with 451 Marketing, and we look forward to learning from all the participants."

Since 1969, Somerville Community Corporation has served the City of Somerville and its residents. The Corporation focuses the majority of its resources on sustaining affordability and livability for the lower income residents of Somerville. A membership-based organization with nearly 400 formal members and 1500 constituents, SCC is a community development corporation strongly established in grassroots community organizing practices, resulting in a number of successful campaigns over the years to influence affordable housing, jobs policies and neighborhood quality of life improvements.

"One of the most important parts of our work is to foster leadership development and growth so that people achieve both individual and systemic changes that protect the social rights, equity and economic viability of the entire community," said Meridith Levy, Deputy Director of SCC. "We are excited to work with 451 Marketing this summer."

The project is the fourth installment of 451 Marketing's non-profit intern project program. Past partners for the program include Jane Doe Inc., Special Olympics Massachusetts, The Old North Foundation, and Interise.

The projects kick off this week and culminate with a final presentation, training and strategy-handoff to BINA and SCC in August. Non-profit organizations interested in partnering with 451 Marketing for future projects should reach out to Halley Dodge at hdodge@451marketing.com.
