93rd State Fair of West Virginia Set to Open August 10
LEWISBURG, WV (07/31/2017) (readMedia)-- The 93rd Annual State Fair of West Virginia is set to begin on Thursday, August 10, at 2 pm in Lewisburg, WV. The 10-day event will featuring top-name musical acts, free entertainment, livestock shows, carnival rides from Reithoffer's Shows and one-of-a-kind fair food!
"We are very excited to open the gates a day early for the 93rd Annual State Fair of West Virginia," CEO Kelly Collins stated. "This year we are featuring several new gate specials including an Early Bird Special that includes $1 admission from 9 am – Noon on Wednesday, August 16."
Other gate specials include First Energy's Magic Monday (8/14), Senior Citizen's Day (8/15) and Military Discount Day (8/17). Children ages 12 and under will once again get in free all day, every day.
The 2017 Concert Series opens at 8 pm on Thursday, August 10, with Aaron Lewis and special guest Ray Scott. Martina McBride and Josh Turner will take the stage on Friday, August 11, while Brantley Gilbert will perform on Friday, August 18 for what is looking like his second sold out show in a row at the State Fair of WV. Other concerts include, Casting Crowns, Clay Walker and John Michael Montgomery, Old Crow Medicine Show, and the Buckin' B Bull Ride with Steve Moakler. Free grandstand shows include Luke Combs, Jimmy Fortune and Home Free.
The week is also filled with free entertainment for all ages including The Bengal Tiger Encounter, Danny Grant Variety Show, Pirates of the Columbian Caribbean, Extreme Raptor Show, Catherine Hickland the Comedic Hypnotist and The Rowdy Rooster.
