"A Miracle for Jen" with Inspirational Speaker Jennifer Barrick
Presentation to be held Saturday, Jan. 21 at 7 p.m. in Lebanon Valley College's Miller Chapel
ANNVILLE, PA (01/05/2012)(readMedia)-- Lebanon Valley College and For-U Ministries join in presenting "A Miracle for Jen" with inspirational speaker Jennifer Barrick on Saturday, Jan. 21 at 7 p.m. in LVC's Miller Chapel. Admission is $5 for adults and $2 for non-LVC students.
While driving home from church on Nov. 5, 2006, the Barrick Family was struck head-on by a drunk driver going 80 miles per hour. Andy, Linda, 15-year-old Jennifer, and 11-year-old Josh sustained life-threatening injuries. All four were rushed to different hospitals. Having suffered severe traumatic brain injuries and multiple skull fractures, Jennifer was not expected to live through the night.
After five weeks in a coma, Jennifer couldn't remember her middle name, recognize her parents, or recall that she had a little brother. Miraculously, however, Jennifer could remember scriptures and praise songs she learned before the accident. God's work in Jennifer's life continues to manifest healing power.
Jennifer and her family now operate a ministry called "Hope Out Loud" (www.hopeoutloud.com). Even though she still suffers from vision impairment and memory loss, Jennifer serves the ministry as an inspirational speaker, sharing her story of hope, courage, and forgiveness. She is also finding success as a part-time student majoring in religion and women's ministries.
LVC student Cristabelle Braden will open the event at Lebanon Valley College with worship music, followed by a message of hope, courage and forgiveness as told by Jennifer and her mother.
Jennifer was born in Harrisburg and attended the Hershey Christian School until the fourth grade, when she moved with her family to Lynchburg, Va., in the summer of 2000. Her parents, Andy and Linda Barrick, are the former owners of the Black Bear Inn and Country Meadows Restaurant in Elizabethtown, Pa., and were members of the Hershey Evangelical Free Church when residing in central Pennsylvania.
Tickets are $5 for adults and $2 for non-LVC students. LVC students may attend free of charge with their student ID. Seating is limited.
