ALBANY LAW SCHOOL HONORS NYS BAR PRESIDENT DAVID MIRANDA WITH DEAN'S MEDAL
ALBANY, NY (05/23/2016)(readMedia)-- Albany Law School Dean Alicia Ouellette has recognized New York State Bar Association President David P. Miranda with the Dean's Medal for his exemplary contributions to the legal profession and the law school community.
"The connection between this year's awardee and our school could not have been stronger," said Ouellette, speaking at the school's commencement in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. on May 20. "Our awardee made it his mission to be present on campus to connect our students to the practicing bar and to help our students find jobs. He's also one of ours."
A 1988 graduate of Albany Law School, Miranda is a partner with Heslin Rothenberg Farley & Mesiti, an intellectual property firm based in Albany. He began his one-year term as president of the State Bar Association on June 1, 2015.
"As an Albany Law School grad, you have a foundation not only to be a great lawyer, but to be a leader in our community," Miranda told graduates
"Always remember why you want to become a lawyer and the passion that brought you this point. As you move forward with your career, find your way to follow that passion and to hold on to it and never lose sight of who or what brought you to our noble profession," he said.

The New York State Bar Association is the largest voluntary state bar association in the nation. It was founded in 1876.
