ATHENS SOLDIER RECEIVES MERITORIOUS SERVICE MEDAL

SPRINGFIELD, IL (02/12/2015)(readMedia)-- Sgt. 1st Class Kassidy Snyder of Athens, Illinois, was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal Jan. 10 by Daniel Krumrei, the Adjutant General for the Illinois National Guard. Snyder received the award for her exemplary service while assigned as the Chief Public Affairs Non-Commissioned Officer for the Illinois National Guard.

"Sergeant First Class Snyder established the Illinois National Guard's social media presence and enhanced the organization's command information program through various graphic design projects," said the award. "Sergeant First Class Snyder is recognized for distinguished performance of duty that reflects great credit upon herself, Joint Force Headquarters' public affairs office, the Illinois National Guard, and the United States Army."
