Aaron Gilani Receives Award at Hampden-Sydney College Opening Convocation

HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, VA (09/06/2012)(readMedia)-- At Opening Convocation on Tuesday, September 4, Aaron Salim Gilani, a sophomore at Hampden-Sydney College, received the Omicron Delta Kappa Award. The ODK Award was established in 1974 to mark the 50th anniversary of the Lambda Circle and has been endowed by generous contributions from ODK alumni. This scholarship is awarded annually to a member of the sophomore class who demonstrated real leadership in his freshman year.

A Patrick Henry Scholar, Aaron is a member of the Student Senate and serves as a Resident Advisor, as Vice-President of Circle K, and as Secretary of the Pre-Health Society. He is a member of the H-SC Acousticals (a cappella group) and the Philanthropy Campaign team. Aaron is a graduate of Cosby High School and is the son of Salim & Meenaz Gilani of Chesterfield.
