Aberdeen's Donn Hill Grabs St. Mary's College of Maryland December Athlete of the Month Honors

ST. MARY'S CITY, MD (01/14/2013)(readMedia)-- St. Mary's City, Md. – Junior Donn Hill (Aberdeen, Md./Bel Air) of the St. Mary's College of Maryland men's basketball team was selected by the Department of Athletics and Recreation as the Athlete of the Month for the month of December.

Hill picked up the honor after leading the Seahawks to a 7-0 (2-0 CAC) record in December with 14.6 points per game and a .562 field goal percentage. He earned a spot on the Seahawk Holiday Classic All-Tournament Team as well as Capital Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week honors on December 31.

The 6-3 guard was the team's leading scorer in St. Mary's last four games of the month. Hill connected on a season-best 19 games in back-to-back contests against Swarthmore College and Misericordia University at the Seahawk Holiday Classic.

He notched a season-high five steals in the 79-54 win over Misericordia on December 30 as well as a season-best three assists in victories over Fairleigh Dickinson University, College at Florham and Swarthmore. Hill put up a season-high two blocks in the 73-64 triumph over FDU-Florham on December 22.

He scored in double digits in all but one game in the month of December. Hill averaged 4.0 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 1.4 steals while shooting 70.4% from the free throw line.

Hill and the Seahawks (14-2, 3-1 CAC) return to action on Wednesday, January 16 when St. Mary's travels to Fredericksburg, Virginia to take on the University of Mary Washington in conference action at 8:00 pm.
