HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, VA (04/11/2011)(readMedia)-- Hampden-Sydney College senior Adam Stuart Lees recently received the prestigious James Madison Public Service Certificate from Dr. Christopher B. Howard, President of Hampden-Sydney College on behalf of the Wilson Center for Leadership in the Public Interest. The Public Service Certificates are presented to seniors who have successfully completed a two-year concentration of classes, internship, and research and who are seriously considering careers in public service.

Adam completed his internship with the Virginia Port Authority. He is currently Editor-in-Chief of the Kaleidoscope, the student yearbook. Adam is a member of the French Club, the Episcopal Campus Ministry, the Baptist Collegiate Ministries, and the honor societies Phi Beta Kappa (academics), Phi Sigma Iota (foreign language), Pi Sigma Alpha (political science), Eta Sigma Phi (classics), and the Society for Collegiate Journalists. He plans to enter graduate school in history next year. Adam, a French, foreign affairs, and humanities major, is a graduate of Atlantic Community High School and is the son of Bob & Charlotte Lees of Delray Beach.
