SCOTIA , NY (07/25/2013)(readMedia)-- Three Vermont Air National Guard F-16 fighter from the 158th Fighter Wing in Burlington, known as the "Green Mountain Boys" will pass over the Scotia area on Friday morning at around 9:30 a.m.

The aircraft-which are on a regularly scheduled training mission-- are passing by Stratton Air National Guard Base so that 220 Civil Air Patrol Cadets from New York, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Vermont and Massachusetts who are taking part in their regular annual encampment at the base can see the planes.

The fighters are expected to make three passes over the area.

The Civil Air Patrol is the U.S. Air Force's civilian volunteer auxiliary. The Cadet program is aimed at teaching leadership and airmanship skills to youth aged 12 to 21. The cadets will be concluding their week-long program with a graduation event on Saturday.
