MORRISTOWN, NJ (02/03/2012)(readMedia)-- Albert Del Principio of Stony Point, N.Y., successfully defended his dissertation at the College of Saint Elizabeth (CSE), 2 Convent Road, Morristown, N.J., to earn his doctorate in educational leadership. Del Principio's dissertation is entitled, "The Effects of Bullying on Student Academic Performance." He is vice principal for academic studies at a private high school in New Jersey.

"I found the experience at the College of Saint Elizabeth to be one that has helped me grow on a personal as well as professional level," says Del Principio. "I have deep respect for the members of my cohort, the faculty, and the profound mission of the College."

Del Principio taught at both the elementary and secondary levels in both New York and New Jersey. The lifelong resident of Stony Point holds an undergraduate degree from the State University of New York at Albany, as well as a certificate of advanced studies in education from St. Thomas Aquinas College, a master's in criminal justice from Boston University, and a master's in educational leadership from Iona College. He and his wife Laura have four children, Gino, Nico, Albert, and Emily.

The doctoral program at CSE, which is dedicated to preparing leaders who are committed to social justice and ethical practice, began in August 2007. "Integrated into all course work and learning activities are the central values and beliefs necessary for school leaders to function as morally purposeful stewards for their school communities," states Dr. John Crews, Ed.D. CSE educational leadership program chair. "This philosophy of servant leadership represents a major shift from the traditional paradigm of school leaders as managers of resources, which is so prevalent in today's practices."

Sponsored by the Sisters of Charity of Saint Elizabeth, Convent Station, New Jersey, the College of Saint Elizabeth enrolls more than 2,100 full- and part-time students in more than 25 undergraduate, 10 graduate and one doctoral degree programs.
