Albia Youth Cracks Judges Up to Earn a Blue Ribbon in Iowa State Fair Joke Contest

DES MOINES, IA (08/21/2017) (readMedia)-- Roni Coughlin, 5 of Albia earned first place in the Children's Joke Telling contest judged Friday at the 2017 Iowa State Fair.

Second place went to Lily Martin, 6, of Des Moines and Elaina Roizeuboom, 9, of Bussey took third. Aden Schultz, 7, of Black Creek claimed fourth place and Maeleigh Clover, 8, of Eddyville took home fifth.

The contest was part of "Rural Americana Olde Tyme Competitions" in Farm Bureau Pioneer Hall. A first prize of $5 and ribbons were awarded to each class.
