Alhaj Yusuf Khadar of Brentwood Awarded The Class of 1957 Endowed Scholarship
ST. MARY'S CITY, MD (02/06/2014)(readMedia)-- Alhaj Yusuf Khadar, a Brentwood, Md., native and first-year student at St. Mary's College of Maryland, was recently awarded The Class of 1957 Endowed Scholarship. Established in 2007, the scholarship fund benefits students who have academic merit and who demonstrate involvement in service to school, church or home communities.
At St. Mary's College of Maryland, Khadar is studying economics and religious studies, and may pursue the physics major. His goals are to pursue graduate education, completing a master's degree and possible PHD.
Outside the classroom, Khadar is an executive member of the SGA Finance Board, Rugby Club member and member of the Black Student Union. His interests include football, basketball, dancing and singing.
St. Mary's College of Maryland, designated the Maryland state honors college in 1992, in ranked one of the best public liberal arts schools in the nation by U.S. News and World Report. More than 2,000 students attend the college, nestled on the St. Mary's River in Southern Maryland.
