Alpha Sigma Phi to Host Bike-athon
Proceeds to Benefit the Lance Armstrong Foundation
PLATTSBURGH, NY (11/10/2009)(readMedia)-- SUNY Plattsburgh's Alpha Sigma Phi fraternity will host a bike-athon to support its national philanthropy, LIVESTRONG, the Lance Armstrong Foundation, Friday, Nov. 20.
The event will begin at noon in Amitie Plaza in front of the Angell College Center and will continue until midnight. The brothers will keep the pedals of a stationary bike moving the entire 12 hours.
LIVESTRONG was founded in 1997 by cyclist and cancer survivor Lance Armstrong. Since that time, LIVESTRONG has worked to help those who have been affected by cancer.
In support of this mission, Alpha Sigma Phi will seek donations with all proceeds going toward the fight against the disease. The event will also include live music and prize giveaways every hour.
Donations will be accepted at the event, and anyone who would like to support LIVESTRONG is encouraged to participate. For further information, or to have your organization be involved, contact Zach Bradt at zbrad001@mail.plattsburgh.edu.
