Alyson Buck Senior Recital at Gettysburg College
GETTYSBURG, PA (04/06/2012)(readMedia)-- Alyson Buck, a Senior at Gettysburg College presented a senior recital on March 25 in Gettysburg College's Paul Recital Hall located in Schmucker Hall on the Gettysburg College campus. Buck's recital was centered around the theme of animals and nature. It included pieces by Felix Mendelssohn, Fanny Mendelssohn-Hensel, Vincenzo Bellini, Richard Hundley, John Duke, and Erik Satie, as well as music from the Sondheim's Sweeney Todd, Harvey Schmidt's The Fantasticks, and Copland's opera, The Tender Land.
Founded in 1832, Gettysburg College is a highly selective four-year residential college of liberal arts and sciences with a strong academic tradition that includes Rhodes Scholars, a Nobel laureate and other distinguished scholars among its alumni. The college enrolls 2,600 undergraduate students and is located on a 200-acre campus adjacent to the Gettysburg National Military Park in Pennsylvania within a couple hours drive of four major metropolitan areas.
