Amanda Barns, Phoenix area sophomore, part of new Stress-Busting program at NAU
FLAGSTAFF, AZ (03/11/2013)(readMedia)-- Amanda Barns, a sophomore from Phoenix, AZ has been trained as a new Stressbuster on Northern Arizona University's campus.
Stressbusters is a new and unique program at Northern Arizona University; it is a national training and outreach program that teaches students to be free resource advisors and backrub providers who continuously calm and connect thousands of students and staff with support services all over campus. Students receive professional training to become stress prevention advisors as part of a proven program that has been adopted at top universities around the country. Team members give out health advice and stress management tips as peer educators. These trained student Stressbusters also hold events at residence halls during finals, visit departments on campus. It is a great way to help fellow students and get involved with new people across NAU.
Campus Stressbusters programs recruit and train students to be volunteer Stressbusters, produce events, and dispatch Stressbusters teams to events requested by campus groups, programs and departments.
