ST. LOUIS, MO (06/20/2012)(readMedia)-- Amanda Ely of St. Charles, Mo., was selected to serve as president of Missouri Baptist University's Student Activities Council. This position involves organizing and conducting meetings, recruiting members, arranging trips, leadership development and speaking at campus visit days. She is also a member of the Welcome Weekend committee, involving long-term planning and executing Welcome Weekend events for incoming students.
Ely will enter the Fall 2012 semester at MBU as a senior ministry and leadership major. In addition to Student Activities, Ely anchors for the Student Activities segment on Timeline, MBU's student news broadcast; volunteers with Campus Crusade for Christ, MBU's Campus Ministries and performance ministry teams; and is also a student mentor for the freshmen collegiate seminar course. She also serves at Matthias' Lot Church.
Ely is a graduate of Francis Howell High School in St. Charles, Mo. She is also a team leader at the Des Peres Chick-fil-A.
