American Lung Association in Tennessee Has Statewide Lung Walks

Virtual Participation, Route Signs Available

NASHVILLE TN (03/23/2010)(readMedia)-- Join the American Lung Association in Tennessee to "Fight for Air" at a Tennessee LungWalk this spring.

Your efforts can help the hundreds of thousands of Tennesseans with chronic lung disease breathe easier when you volunteer, form a team or walk as an individual and support the work of the American Lung Association.

Those that want to help, but aren't able to actually walk on the day of the event, can register as a "virtual walker". Virtual walkers are a special category of particpant and eligible for all fundraising incentives, including the walk T-Shirt - they just don't actually walk on the day of the event.

Another option is to purchase a "Helping Others Breathe" route marker sign for $15. These route markers are individually personalized and can be used to honor someone struggling with lung disease, remember someone who has lost the fight against lung disease, celebrate a special occassion such as a birthday or anniversary, show recognition for an extraordinary person in your life, or advertise your business or service.

Lung Walks are a fun and easy way to to make a difference in people's lifes, so get involved!

Walks will be taking place throughout Tennessee on the following dates:

Nashville: Saturday, May 1, 2010 at the Nashville Zoo at Grassmere– registration and celebration 8:30 a.m. to 9:15 a.m., walk starts at 9:30 a.m.

Memphis: Saturday, May 8, 2010 at - registration and celebration 8:00 a.m. to 8:45 a.m., walk starts at 9:00 a.m.

Knoxville: Saturday, June 5, 2010 at Volunteer Landing- registration and celebration 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m., walk starts at 10:00 a.m.
