HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, VA (04/28/2011)(readMedia)-- At Final Convocation on April 21, Hampden-Sydney College freshman Andrew McNeal Stoddard received the Outstanding Freshman Journalist Award, presented by Matthew E. MacFarland '11, Editor-in-Chief of the student newspaper, The Hampden-Sydney Tiger. Presented by the student newspaper, this award recognizes the best in newspaper journalism by a freshman.
A Patrick Henry Scholar, Andrew is a staff writer for the student newspaper, The Hampden-Sydney Tiger, is on the varsity cross country team, and is a member of the Tiger Athletic Club. Andrew graduated from Mills E. Godwin High School and is the son of Dan & Mary Stoddard of Richmond.
