Andy Shaw named to All-NCAC football squad

GRANVILLE, OH (11/26/2013)(readMedia)-- Andy Shaw, class of 2015, earned second-team All-North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) honors as a punter for the Big Red.

A native of Lake Forest, Ill. and a graduate of Lake Forest High School, Shaw earned second-team status after posting the best punting season at Denison in 31 years. He averaged 40.5 yards per punt with a long of 60 yards. Fourteen of his 37 punts went inside the opponents' 20-yard line and nine resulted in fair catches. Shaw finished second in the NCAC in yards per punt.

Denison finished the year at 7-3, which were the most victories in a season by a Big Red football team since 1986. The offense is ranked third in NCAA Division III in time of possession. The offense had the ball for an average of 34:43 per game.

Denison University, founded in 1831, is an independent, residential liberal arts institution located in Granville, Ohio. Nearly one-fourth of Denison's 2,100 full-time undergraduate students compete in one of Denison's 23-varsity athletic programs. Denison is a member of NCAA Division III and the North Coast Athletic Conference.
