Application Questions Amended

MINNEAPOLIS, MN (01/14/2022) (readMedia)-- January 2022

On September 11, 2021, the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice unanimously passed an amendment to the licensure application language requiring disclosure of past and current health conditions to ask:

"Do you currently have any condition that is not being appropriately treated which is likely to impair or adversely affect your ability to practice medicine with reasonable skill and safety in a competent, ethical and professional manner?"

The modified language was implemented in January 2022 in application and renewal forms for all eight professions regulated by the Board of Medical Practice.

These changes reflect months of collaborative work among many stakeholders, including the Board of Medical Practice, medical students, regulated professionals and advocacy organizations.

The Board of Medical Practice appreciates those who supported this significant step forward in supporting the health and well-being of Minnesota's health care providers.
