Ardmore's Kaci Kennedy receives two scholarships at East Central University

Kaci Kennedy, right of Ardmore, was the recipient of the Wendall Altmiller Scholarship and the J.W. and Clara Zimmerman Scholarship during East Central University Department of Education's recent 2018 Spring Awards Luncheon. The Wendall Altmiller Scholarship goes to a senior majoring in elementary education with a minimum 3.0 grade-point average. Dr. Altmiller was a longtime ECU faculty member and dean of the College of Education. The J.W. and Clara Zimmerman scholarship is awarded to an education major who is a sophomore or higher and who exhibits financial need. J.W. was the first person to obtain a master's degree at ECU and this family has had a very visible influence on higher education in Oklahoma. The scholarship was established by family, friends and colleagues in honor and memory of both J.W. and Clara Zimmerman.
