Area Residents Compete at Mohican District Science Day at Ashland University

ASHLAND, OH (03/27/2012)(readMedia)-- Huron area residents were among the 310 students from 41 area schools competing March 24 at Ashland University, for the 52nd annual Mohican District Science Day. Sponsored by the Mohican District Junior Division of the Ohio Academy of Science, the event was held in the Ashland University's John C. Myers Convocation Center.

All 7th, 8th, and 9th Graders who received Superior were given invitations to the Charles F. Kettering Science Camp at Ashland University, June 18-21, 2012. The focus of this year's camp is on ENERGY. This hands-on experience is funded by the Kettering Fund held at the Ashland County Community Foundation, with facilities provided by Ashland University in the Kettering Science Center.

The Ohio Academy of Science has extended "free" registration to all participants for the Annual Ohio Academy of Science Meeting hosted by Ashland University on April 14th.

Middle grade student Katie Humphreys from McCormic Middle school received a superior rating while fellow classmates; Jacob Fries, Jack Kilbury, Morgan Morey, Kevin Stapanian, and Aaron Wise received excellent ratings.
