MORRISTOWN, NJ (01/28/2014)(readMedia)-- Arnold Jeffrey White of Piscataway, N.J., has successfully defended his dissertation at the College of Saint Elizabeth (CSE), 2 Convent Road, Morristown, N.J., to earn his doctorate in educational leadership. White's dissertation is entitled, "An Investigation of Teacher Efficacy: Understandings, Practices, and the Impact of Professional Development as Perceived by Elementary School Teachers."

"I am grateful to all my professors in the Educational Leadership Department at the College of Saint Elizabeth for providing me with an exceptional education in servant leadership philosophy and practice," said White. "Achieving my doctorate at CSE has been my most rewarding educational experience."

White, who serves as principal of the Adamsville Primary School, a Pre-K-4th grade school in Bridgewater, N.J., has more than 14 years of experience in education, including teaching grades six through eight for both general and special education. He holds a Master of Arts in School Administration from Rowan University in Glassboro, N.J., and a Master of Arts in International Studies from The Ohio University in Athens, Ohio.

The doctoral program at CSE, which is dedicated to preparing leaders who are committed to social justice and ethical practice, began in August 2007. "Integrated into all course work and learning activities are the central values and beliefs necessary for school leaders to function as morally purposeful stewards for their school communities," states Dr. John Crews, Ed.D., CSE educational leadership program chair. "This philosophy of servant leadership represents a major shift from the traditional paradigm of school leaders as managers of resources, which is so prevalent in today's practices."
