Arrangements Blossom Blue Ribbons in State Fair Floriculture Contest

DES MOINES, IA (08/24/2011)(readMedia)-- Floral displays in the Doherty's Flowers contest were judged Friday at the 2011 Iowa State Fair.

Carol Leslie of Longmont, Colo., placed first in both the My Favorite Antique Like Container class and the My Favorite Flowers class. Robert Leslie, also of Longmount, Colo., placed second in both classes. Johnston resident Debbie Lemon took third in both categories.

Entrants were asked to fill a container of their choosing with fresh or dried plant material.
