Art Exhibit at Genesee Community College Medina Campus Center

MEDINA, NY (05/03/2010)(readMedia)-- Local artist, Elizabeth Bamford will display her collection of oil paintings at the Medina Campus Center of Genesee Community College from May 11- June11. An artist's opening reception is scheduled for Thursday, May 13 from 6:00-8:00pm. The exhibit and reception is free and open to the public.

Elizabeth Bamford was born in Buffalo, NY on March 17, 1961. She spent her early childhood in North Tonawanda. Elizabeth moved to the Lockport area as a young adult and now resides in Youngstown, NY.

Elizabeth began her career as an artist in the fall of 2007 at the age of 46. Oil paints are Elizabeth's favorite medium. Working with her art facilitator, Barbara Gray, owner and operator of Shawn's Gate Art Gallery in Medina and Lockport, she completes a painting approximately every three months, and happily signs each "Liz B". Elizabeth paints scenes from her memories and photos that have a special meaning for her. Her first painting was completed in August of 2007.
