ST. AUGUSTINE, FL (04/18/2013)(readMedia)-- Flagler College associate professor of art Patrick Moser was recently published in the April 2013 issue of ARTiculAction Art Review, a web-based international publication focusing on contemporary art.

Moser was given a six-page spread in the issue, which showcases his recent work, including stills from his video, "Watch Me, See Me." Many of his pieces combine traditional techniques with contemporary pop culture, such as his featured "108 Heads."

"I want my students to see that there are no limits, that my traditional skill sets of painting and drawing can live creatively alongside video and performance art," Moser explained. "I want them to be open to new ways of making and considering artistic meanings."

Moser believes it's important for students to understand how faculty are actively engaged in personal studio practice and said that many faculty in the art department are exhibiting in galleries and museums nationally.

"We are participants in culture, not just consumers of it," he said. "This is why the Bachelor of Fine Arts program [at Flagler] is so successful at producing young artists to get accepted to the best Master of Fine Arts programs in the country."
