Association of Information Technology Professionals Cybersecurity Summit Slated for Sept. 20 at Kutztown University

KUTZTOWN, PA (09/06/2017) KUTZTOWN, PA, Sept. 6, 2017 - The Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP) will hold its annual Cybersecurity Summit Wednesday, Sept. 20, from 6:30 - 9 p.m., in the multipurpose room of the McFarland Student Union, room 218, at Kutztown University. The event is free and open to the public. Registration is required by visiting the Kutztown University Foundation & Alumni Relations website at www.kutztownufoundation.org. A networking dinner with the summit panelists will take place at 5 p.m. Registration for the dinner costs $25, or $15 for KU students and AITP/ SBDC members.

Summit attendees will learn how to protect critical digital infrastructures, discuss cyber solutions and hear from a panel of cybersecurity experts including Mario Dinatale, one of the world's foremost cybersecurity researchers. Other topics include protection from cyber-attacks, how to minimize exposure risks such as data breaches, hacktivism, and social media data mining and the shortage of cybersecurity professionals.

Dinatale, chief information officer (CIO) of Spectrum Virtual, Wallingford, Conn., has one of the most sought- after talents in cutting edge technology. After his recent involvement in shutting down the Teslacrypt Ransomware ring, Dinatale continues to have a reputation of being one of the greatest cybersecurity researchers to act as a cybersecurity advisor.

Prior to Spectrum Virtual, Dinatale served as CIO of Hamden, Conn., and as a mentor and adviser to the Google Incubator startup Kricket.
