Aubrey L. Griffin selected as a Posse Scholar at Union College
SCHENECTADY, NY (01/18/2013)(readMedia)-- Aubrey L. Griffin of Dorchester, MA, has been selected as a Posse Scholar at Union College in Schenectady, NY.
The Posse Scholar program identifies public high school students with extraordinary academic and leadership potential. Union College is one of Posse's nearly 40 partner colleges and universities, each of which award four-year, full-tuition leadership scholarships to groups of 10 students – or Posses – annually.
Griffin, who attends the Boston Latin School, was chosen after a rigorous selection process. She is an outstanding student and is taking the maximum AP course load. Her transcript shows an aptitude for history, languages, and English/composition. Griffin is involved in a number of community service organizations, making the greatest impact in the Yawkey Boys and Girls Club, with which she has been involved for three years. She serves as the president of the Keystone Club and is a member of the National Steering Committee for the national Keystone Conference 2013. Griffin participated in the "Explore India" program in which she took a course and travelled to India. Other activities include Talent Club, a design and fashion club, and ArtScience Prize. She tutored at the Boston Latin School, and works as an office assistant in Boston Latin School's nurses' office. Over the summer, Griffin worked as an intellectual properties intern at law firm Foley Hoag, LLP. Her interests and experiences reflect her passion for social justice and human rights.
