Aurora's Kyle Pilmer named NACC Men's Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week

AURORA, IL (02/20/2014)(readMedia)-- Aurora University junior center Kyle Pilmer (Aurora, Ill./West Aurora H.S.) was named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Men's Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending February 16, 2014.

Pilmer led the Spartans to a 3-0 week, averaging a double-double with 18.0 points and 11.7 rebounds. Pilmer tallied a pair of double-doubles in AU's wins over Concordia University Wisconsin (94-74) and Edgewood College (69-64). He also averaged two blocked shots per game, with two each in the three games, and shot 66.7 percent from the field on the week.

On the season, Pilmer is averaging 8.7 points and 6.2 rebounds per game for the Spartans, 17-8 overall and 14-6 in the NACC.

Next action for Pilmer and the men's basketball team comes on Saturday, February 22 when they host the first round of the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Tournament. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m. in Thornton Gymnasium against an opponent to be determined.
