Authority Announces Repair at Exit 4 (Smith Street) to Necessitate Entrance Ramp Closure to I-190 Southbound

ALBANY, NY (10/26/2009)(readMedia)-- The New York State Thruway Authority announced there will be a temporary entrance ramp closure from Smith Street (at Exit 4) to I-190 southbound beginning at 12:01 a.m. on Tuesday, October 27, 2009, weather permitting. Work will conclude around 4 a.m. on Tuesday, October 27.

These repairs are being completed as part of the I-190 southbound concrete pavement reconstruction.

During the temporary ramp closure beginning around midnight, a signed detour route will be in place for traffic entering the I-190 southbound at Exit 4 (Smith Street). Southbound traffic will be directed north on Smith Street, left on Seneca Street, left on Louisiana Street, left on to the I-190 southbound at the Louisiana Street entrance ramp at Exit 5.

Additionally, a second detour route will be available for travelers proceeding south on Smith Street, right on Elk Street, right on South Park Avenue, right on Louisiana Street to the entrance ramp at Exit 5.

The Authority appreciates motorists' patience while this project takes place.
