STORM LAKE, IA (03/12/2019) (readMedia)-- Buena Vista University (BVU) and Lake Creek Country Club (Lake Creek) have announced a marketing partnership involving the University's purchase of naming rights to the Country Club for ten years. It will be renamed Buena Vista University Golf Course at Lake Creek Country Club, effective immediately.

In addition to the naming rights, BVU men's and women's golf teams will continue to have full access to the 18-hole course, driving range, putting green, and other facilities for practice and competitions. The University will also have access to Lake Creek's event spaces.

"This naming partnership brings together two great names in the community, and the combination of the two brands will be a benefit to both the University and our local Country Club," says Joshua D. Merchant, BVU President. "Not only does it provide student athletes in our golf program continued access to a great facility, but it also opens up other opportunities for both organizations to work together to support Buena Vista County."

Members of Lake Creek were notified about the marketing partnership earlier this morning in an email from board president, Mike Wilson.

"In addition to the financial benefit of this marketing partnership to Lake Creek, there are also many opportunities for students to use Lake Creek as a place to get real-world experience in their field of study, which helps both Lake Creek and BVU," says Mike Wilson, Lake Creek Club President.

A new logo reflecting the marketing partnership is currently in development and will be revealed this spring. This new name will be used throughout Lake Creek.
