BVU to Host Storm Lake United Coffee and Network Event

STORM LAKE, IA (11/29/2017) (readMedia)-- Buena Vista University's (BVU) Career and Personal Development Office is hosting a Storm Lake United Coffee and Network event on Wednesday, Dec. 13 at 10:30 a.m. The event will take place in the Career and Personal Development Office across from the Lehnus Campus Bookstore on the BVU campus.

The primary purpose of the event is to connect Storm Lake employers with the Career and Personal Development Office for all intern and/or employer coordination needs. The event also serves as an opportunity for BVU students to network with local professionals and discover their potential career path.

"One of our goals in supporting students through the career exploration process is to increase their awareness of local internship and employment opportunities in our Storm Lake community," said Lori Berglund, director of career and personal development at BVU.

In addition to working as a liaison between businesses and students, the Career and Personal Development Office develops personal connections with BVU students.

"Interns can be a supportive asset to any company looking for additional help within their workforce," said Kristi Davis, assistant director of career and personal development and internship coordinator at BVU. "They provide new insight and can assist with completing larger projects."

Coffee and light refreshments will be served at the event, with remarks to follow from Berglund and Davis.
