SENATOBIA, MS (06/12/2017) Sybil Canon, Northwest Mississippi Community College associate vice president of Development and Special Projects recently accepted the annual contribution of $4,500 to the Northwest Foundation designated for BancorpSouth Share the Future Scholarships. Ritchie Hampton, DeSoto County Market president, Walt Parker, first vice president, and David Harbison, Grenada Banking president were on hand to represent BancorpSouth.

"Since 1998, BancorpSouth has contributed more than $220,000 to helping students. In addition to establishing the BancorpSouth Endowment and the BancorpSouth Share the Future Annual Scholarships, BancorpSouth has served as title sponsor and as co-title Sponsor of the Two Plus Two Scholarship Golf Tournament, held annually at Cherokee Valley Golf Club in Olive Branch. In many ways, this bank supports the students of Northwest, and we are grateful," Canon said.

According to Hampton, BancorpSouth is vitally interested in the communities they serve. "Certainly, we believe we provide the very best in banking needs and opportunities for our customers, but a good bank looks beyond its customers to improve the communities in which they live. Education is one of the key assets of any community, and we want to be on the forefront of helping students achieve their educational goals," Hampton said.

Receiving the BancorpSouth Share the Future Scholarships for the upcoming school year are Ethan Goff of Hernando and Madison Lutz-Parker of Southaven.
