Beacon Energy Efficiency and Renewal Event on Weatherization Day - Friday, October 29

Federal, State, and local representatives will join Beacon Housing Authority to Highlight Energy Efficiency Measures and the Potential to Save Energy, Lower Costs

BEACON, NY (10/28/2010)(readMedia)-- In honor of New York State Weatherization Day, Beacon Housing Authority will kick off construction on a $2.5 million Energy Efficiency and Renewable project for its 245 apartments in Beacon. The project demonstrates an innovative partnership, utilizing a combination of funds from the federal Stimulus grants from US Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and US Department of Energy (DOE), New York State Homes and Community Renewal's (HCR) Weatherization Assistance Program, New York State Energy Research and Development's (NYSERDA) Societal Benefit Charge Utility Ratepayer fund.

WHAT: -Federal and state officials, BHA, and Dutchess County Community Action will discuss Energy Control Measures, Grant funding, dollars saved, and promoting energy efficient affordable housing
