POTSDAM, NY (01/17/2017)(readMedia)-- Community Performance Series will present Casa Mañana Theatre's family production of "A Year with Frog & Toad" on Saturday, Feb. 18 at 3 p.m., in the Sara M. Snell Music Theatre at SUNY Potsdam's Crane School of Music. Ticket prices are only $5 for students and $10 for adults.

A hit on Broadway, "A Year with Frog and Toad" was nominated for three Tony Awards, including Best Musical. Based on Arnold Lobel's beloved children's books and featuring a jazzy, upbeat score that bubbles with melody and wit, the show is an inventive, exuberant and enchanting experience for the whole family.

"We are so excited to be presenting Casa Mañana Theatre's production of 'A Year with Frog & Toad.' This amazing musical brings life to the storybook characters, creating a wonderfully fun experience for the whole family," said CPS Education Coordinator Patti Mason.

Educational performances for area school districts will also be offered on Feb. 17, as part of the CPS Meet the Arts Series. "A Year with Frog & Toad" is recommended for children between the ages of four and 10.

This whimsical musical follows two great friends -- the cheerful, popular Frog and the curmudgeonly Toad -- through four fun-filled seasons, meeting new friends like Turtle, Squirrel, Man Bird, Lady Bird and Father, Mother and Young Frog. Waking from hibernation in the spring, Frog and Toad plant gardens, swim, rake leaves, go sledding and learn life lessons along the way. The two best friends celebrate and rejoice in their differences that make them unique and special. Part vaudeville, part make believe and all charm, "A Year with Frog and Toad" tells the story of a friendship that endures, weathering all seasons.

"'A Year with Frog & Toad' provides plenty of fun and creativity for children and plenty of nostalgia and heart for the adults," raved Chicago Theatre Beat.
