Benton resident Jaron Salazar receives Dominican's Rising Star Award
RIVER FOREST, IL (05/03/2011)(readMedia)-- Jaron Salazar, a resident of Benton, AR, was honored with Dominican University's Rising Star Award, presented each year to students demonstrating true Dominican spirit through service activities on and off campus.
Salazar serves on campus with the Resident Student Association, Ecology Club, Student Government, Peer Advising and TORCH, the university's summer orientation program. Also notable was his service and leadership in the university's production of The Laramie Project, during which he participated in a non-violent demonstration. His service has extended into the community at St. Angela's School, St. Jude's Hospital, and Exodus World Services.
Founded in 1901, Dominican University is a comprehensive, coeducational Catholic institution offering bachelor's degrees through the Rosary College of Arts and Sciences and master's degrees through the Graduate School of Library and Information Science, the Brennan School of Business, the School of Education, and the Graduate School of Social Work.
