Best Blooms Go Head to Head at Iowa State Fair Competition

DES MOINES, IA (08/23/2017) (readMedia)-- Thirty-seven exhibitors entered 421 flowers in the FFA Floriculture competition judged Thursday at the 2017 Iowa State Fair.

Mathew Green of Riceville received Champion honors for the Award of Excellence in this year's competition. Savannah Wilz of Agri-Power received Reserve Champion honors for the Award of Excellence.

Wilz also claimed Champion honors for the Sweepstakes Trophy. Dylan Shrock of Mid Prairie claimed Reserve Champion honors for the Sweepstakes Trophy.

Maria Pendleton of Red Oak won the Showing Contest.
