Best Sausages Prepared for State Fair Contest

DES MOINES, IA (09/03/2021) (readMedia)-- Diane Rauh of Des Moines won first place overall in the Purnell Old Folks' Sausage Cook Off, judged Friday, August 20, at the 2021 Iowa State Fair.

Entries were judged on taste, texture, best use of product and eye appeal.

The Iowa State Fair Food Department is the largest of any state fair in the country. There are 134 divisions, 603 classes and nearly 6500 entries at this year's Fair. Food Department judging is held in the Elwell Family Food Center sponsored by Urban Air.
