Birdsong Selected as Contributing Artist for Soundscape Journal

PADUCAH, KY (01/08/2018) Todd Birdsong of Paducah was recently selected to provide the cover art for the last two issues of the World Forum for Acoustic Ecology (WFAE)'s Soundscape: The Journal of Acoustic Ecology. Birdsong is an adjunct instructor of photography and audio production at West Kentucky Community and Technical College's Paducah School of Art and Design.

Soundscape is an annual, peer-reviewed journal published by the WFAE featuring the latest research in the field of acoustic ecology. Birdsong provided images for both volumes 15 & 16 of the journal.

Volume 16 of Soundscape is the second of a two-part set on the theme of guest editor Jay Needham, "Sounds Emergent: Diverse Ecologies." This edition celebrates the life and work of Pauline Oliveros with articles by Edward Shanken, Yolande Harris, Seth Cluett, Tomie Hahn and Stephan Moore. This edition also includes reviews and commentary by Honna Veerkamp, Maile Colbert and Heather Contant and an extended article on augmented reality audio by Leah Barclay.

Founded in 1993, the WFAE is an international association of affiliated organizations and individuals who share a common concern for the state of the world's soundscapes.
