Blair appointed Chief Diversity Officer at Northampton Community College

BETHLEHEM, PA (07/10/2018) Following a national search, Scott J. Blair has joined Northampton Community College (NCC) as chief diversity officer. Blair comes to Northampton from the State University of New York (SUNY), College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF), Syracuse, New York, where he served as director of student diversity and inclusion initiatives and worked with the college's chief diversity officer, directing all aspects of the college's diversity and inclusion initiatives and programming endeavors. During his time at SUNY-ESF, Blair served as interim chief diversity officer and other roles within Academic Success and Support Services. Blair also served as the head men's basketball coach.

Prior to that he worked in Residence Life at Syracuse University, Syracuse, N.Y., and was a graduate intern at Kutztown University, Kutztown, Pa., where he received his B.S. Ed. in Secondary Education/English and his M.Ed. in higher education administration.

Born in Maracay, Venezuela, Blair and his wife, Katie, and daughter, Sydney, are relocating to the Lehigh Valley, Pa.
