Boone Baker Wins State Fair Sourdough Title
DES MOINES, IA (09/11/2024) (readMedia)-- Danni Carley of Boone won First and Second Places Overall in the Homemade Sourdough Bread competition judged Friday, August 9, at the 2024 Iowa State Fair.
Elly Mack of Marshalltown earned Third Place Overall.
Entries were judged on appearance, crust, crumb and flavor.

The Iowa State Fair Food Department is the largest of any state fair in the country. There were 140 divisions, 726 classes and over 6,400 entries at this year's Fair. Food Department judging is held in the Elwell Family Food Center.
