Boxborough resident Elyse Lebel wins outstanding student achievement awards at Connecticut College

NEW LONDON, CT (05/25/2012)(readMedia)-- Elyse Lebel, a senior at Connecticut College, was awarded the Bernard I. Murstein Award, for research on interpersonal relations and the Sociology Department Prize, awarded to a graduating senior who has achieved excellence in any major within the sociology department and who manifests its ideals. Lebel was presented with the awards at the annual Honors & Awards ceremony at Connecticut College on May 1.

Lebel is a 2008 graduate of Acton-Boxborough Regional High School and is the daughter of Joanne Sorgini and Marc Lebel of Boxborough.

At the ceremony, the awards were presented by President Leo I. Higdon, Jr. and Armando I. Bengochea, dean of the college. Jennifer A. Fredricks, associate professor and chair of human development faculty director, Holleran Center for Community Action and Public Policy, gave the keynote address.
