Brad Lander + Jimmy Van Bramer Cross-endorse

QUEENS, NY (05/04/2021) (readMedia)-- Today, Jimmy Van Bramer and Brad Lander co-endorsed each other for Queens Borough President and NYC Comptroller respectively. Van Bramer and Lander have recently teamed up to push for expanded paid sick leave for essential gig workers and co-authored a letter calling on the Speaker to release the audit on City Council sexual harassment.

Both progressive candidates are running people-powered campaigns that uplift working families.

"Jimmy Van Bramer fights passionately for the things he cares about -- for the diverse communities of Queens, for thriving neighborhoods where residents and not developers shape the future, for the libraries and cultural groups that fill our neighborhoods with creativity and knowledge and joy, for working people from janitors to taxi drivers, and for the fully equal rights of every single New Yorker. I'm proud to endorse him for Queens Borough President and look forward to continuing our work together to secure a just and vibrant future for our city," said Council Member Brad Lander, candidate for New York City Comptroller.

"For the last twelve years, Brad Lander has been a thought leader in the Council, working diligently for a cleaner, safer, smarter City. He is a progressive who cares deeply about people and gets results. We need someone with a consistent and serious track-record of standing up for the most vulnerable New Yorkers to steward the city's pension funds into the future, and that's why I'm proud to endorse him for NYC Comptroller, " said Deputy Leader Jimmy Van Bramer, candidate for Queens Borough President.

Lander is running a progressive, policy-focused campaign to use the tools of the Comptroller's office to secure a just and durable recovery for NYC and build a city that is more prepared for future crises. As a co-founder of the Council's Progressive Caucus, Brad helped bring participatory budgeting to New York City and has a track record of partnering with community advocates to win data-driven, innovative campaigns to protect workers, expand tenants rights, hold the NYPD accountable, and win safer streets. Prior to serving in the City Council, Brad was a community planner and affordable housing advocate. Lander has been endorsed by Representatives Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Jamaal Bowman, Nydia Velázquez, and Jerry Nadler, as well as dozens of progressive elected officials, labor unions and grassroots community organizations.
