Breanna Collins Named the NACC South Division Softball Position Player of the Week

Rockford University's Breanna Collins collected her first award of the season on Wednesday morning when it was announced that she had been selected as the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference South Division Softball Position Player of the Week. This is the program's second NACC weekly award of the season (Gretchen Schrubbe) and is the first ever for Collins.

Breanna Collins was nearly perfect at the plate this past week for the Regents. She opened with a perfect 3-for-3 performance, which included a double, a triple, a home run, two runs batted in and three runs scored in a 9-5 win over Concordia Chicago. Collins then went 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored in a 5-1 victory against the Cougars. For the week, Collins hit .833 with a 2.000 slugging percentage and had four extra-base hits.

The RU softball team returns to the diamond on Saturday, April 17 against Benedictine University. First pitch of the doubleheader is set for 4:00 PM at Mercyhealth Sportscore Two.
