Briana Williams To Join Howard Payne VB Next Season

BROWNWOOD, TX (05/14/2013)(readMedia)-- Today the Howard Payne University volleyball program announced that Briana Williams of Hemet, CA will be joining the 2013 Lady Jacket volleyball team.

Briana Williams has met all Howard Payne University admissions requirements and has committed to continue her athletic career at Howard Payne this upcoming season.

The daughter of Anthony and Crickett Williams, Briana will be a 2013 graduate of Hemet High School in Hemet, CA. A four-time scholar-athlete in volleyball and track & field, Briana currently ranks in the top 3% of her graduating class.

Playing outside and opposite hitter, the 5'7" Briana is a two-year varsity starter on the Hemet HS volleyball team and four-year letter winner in track and field.

While playing with the varsity volleyball team, her high school earned two consecutive Mountain Pass League Championships. She eventually would help led her team to two consecutive CIF 4A/4AA State Championships. Along the way, she was named 1st Team All-League her junior season and 2nd Team All-League her senior year.

Other awards she has received her junior and senior years are the Kiwanis Athlete of the Month for volleyball, the Presidential Award Gold, the Ron Breyer Award and the Wendy's High School Heisman Award.
